Breakthrough
“Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” introduced the band internationally with a restrained reggae-influenced groove and an unusually vulnerable vocal performance.

“Karma Chameleon,” “Time (Clock of the Heart)” and other hits showed how easily the group could mix pop, soul and Caribbean rhythm while maintaining a distinctive visual identity.
